UK Bride Married in the Cowichan Valley | Cowichan Valley Hair & Makeup Artist

Anna Schluefter, was Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry’s beautiful UK Bride this summer.  She, her fiancé along with family and friends traveled to Vancouver Island to have a summer holiday, along with their wedding ceremony at the Keirestell Bed & Breakfast in theCowichan Valley.  I met Anna and her family during her wedding day preview a few days before the wedding, as she just arrived from theUK.  She has great taste in makeup, and knows what looks good, we kept her makeup softer than usual, yet playing up her features.  With her hair, she had a shorter cut, we added in a hairpiece to give it a full look.  Below is a picture from Anna’s wedding day preview, this is when our SR bride experiences the treatment of royalty, beginning with a preview session including hair, makeup, jewelry, accessories and the brides dress. All while relaxing in a luxurious urban-styled studio, enjoying gourmet refreshments and appetizers, with friends and family. The preview is topped off with a private photo session in the SR studio.

Victoria Makeup Artist – Ladies Shopping Night – Oakland Community Centre

Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry in Victoria BC, was part of the ‘Ladies Shopping Night‘, which was hosted by Oaklands Community Centre.  It was a fun night of socializing and shopping, with all proceeds of the event going towards the children and family programs.  Sharlet Koniczek from the Centre did a fabulous job putting together the event.  I had a blast, with my booth right next to the lovely ladies of Bella Boudoir, Karen McNeil, Jen Steele and Michelle Martin from Serenigy.

The SR booth looked amazing, Tina Barabonoff from Platinum Floral Designs created the beautiful arrangements, along with Linda Payne, from Designer Wedding & Special Occasions Rental, who supplied the table linens.

Canadian Navy Makeup Artist & Hairstylist – Sharon Rai

Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry stylized Krista and her bridal party for her beautiful fall wedding.  They arrived to the studio, in the morning, and headed to Bear Mountain soon after for the wedding ceremony.  Krista was great to work with, she knew exactly what she wanted.  We created her vision in June during her wedding day preview, needless to say she loved it!  Below is a picture from Krista's preview:

Sooke, BC Bridal Makeup Artist - Sharon Rai

'Once in a while, Right in the middle of an ordinary life, Love gives us a fairy tale.' that was from a wedding card that I read in Tiffany Schiller's suite while getting her ready at the Sooke Harbour House.  Tiffany was the beautiful SR bride today, she traveled from Vancouver, to get married in the breath-taking gardens in Sooke, BC.  Her style was romantic, vintage, and glamorous.  We incorporated her dress, flowers, and style to create her stunning look.  View more pictures of Tiffany.  As we were finishing, Jennifer Armstrong, the wedding photographer came, it was great to run into her.  The last time we worked together was four years ago, during a wedding on Hornby Island, BC. How time flew.

Mount Washington Makeup Artist - Sharon Rai

Canada's luxury wedding magazine, WedLuxe, has done a wedding story on a SR Bride, Shauna Ravai.  Her wedding took place in Mount Washington, I had the privilege of spending a beautiful summer day with her and her party in their Chalet.  I always remember every bride, I work with.  With Shauna's wedding, it was her shoes, I was in-love with her Pink Prada's, and the story behind the color!  Here is what Shauna had to say:

Australian Sharon Rai Brides! - Victoria BC

Carrie & Monica, twin sisters, flew in from Australia to get married at The Lodge at Weirs Beach here in Victoria, BC.  Not only do they share the same birthday, now they share the same wedding date!  It was great, both sisters, bridesmaids, and brides, on the same day.  I met the ladies a few days before their wedding at the studio, we had a wedding day preview for each of them, this is when the bride and I spend time on their look, customizing their vision, and ensuring everything is perfect on the wedding day.

The Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry team arrived in the morning with, Monica and her bridal party first, and Carrie and her party in the afternoon.  Monica, the first bride, has shoulder length hair, we added extensions to giver her the fullness and length.  With her makeup, we went heavier on the eyes, and kept everything else flawless.  Carrie was second to walk down the aisle, we kept her makeup soft, defining her eye.

L'oreal Paris contacted Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry for their new color launch event at Carreiro's, a hair studio downtown Victoria, BC.    The models were to have flawless skin, pale lips, with soft green smokey eyes.

Fall Magazine Shoot - Victoria BC Makeup Artist

Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry, worked on a vampire inspired photo-shoot for the fall.  Alongside Jennifer Dickinson, a talented fashion photographer, Seungmin Yoo, hairstylist, and the beautiful model, Kate.  Makeup was kept light on the eyes, yet defining the lash-line with a strong lip, finishing with luscious hair.  Great look for the fall, and a great team to work with!

Bridal Shower - Vancouver BC.

My siblings hosted a Jack & Jill shower, at the beginning of July for Kal & I.

I was quite impressed with the theme of the shower, inside was diamonds, tiffany's, & cocktails, outside was bbq, meat, and beer, they know us oh so well!  Games were played, advice was given, food was eaten, drinks were drank and Sharon - spoiled!

Sikh & Hindu Wedding, Victoria BC.

The first wedding in June was Pia & Rajans in Victoria, BC.  The day turned out to be fabulous.  In the early morning, Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry arrived, styling Pia for her Sikh Ceremony, then in the afternoon, for her Hindu Ceremony in Bear Mountain.  Followed by the next day, getting her all dolled up for her reception!  The wedding & reception was blogged by their photographers EA Photography.  Congratulations Pia & Rajan you two looked amazing!

Wedding Outfit

Excited to finally wear my wedding outfit, it has an old school feel with a modern twist.  I found the outfit in Birmingham when on holidays in London.  It was exactly what I was looking for, I now know what a bride means when she says 'when you try it on you just know, its the right one'.  I had to make some modifications by the end, it was 'the one', I been holding out for!  Keep posted for pictures.

London Experience

In the beginning of April I traveled to London for the first time, for a two-week holiday!  I spent the first week enjoying all the festivities of a family wedding, seeing how they are done overseas.  I also enjoyed the Asian boutiques, being a long time Asiana Bride reader, I was excited to check out all the stores I see in the magazine.  
I was thrilled to spend my birthday with one of my best friends!  Taking in the experience, we absolutely loved the Chelsea area in London, with the boutiques, shopping, amazing sites, food, nightlife, and friends!

Sikh Wedding! Sharon Rai Vancouver Bridal Hair & Makeup.

Bhu's Sikh Wedding!  We started early morning in North Vancouver preparing her hair, and dupata for the wedding, then headed to Richmond in the evening to get her ready for the reception.  Bhu was full of energy, and looked absolutely gorgeous.  It was a treat to work alongside Karin Shoji, one of my past makeup instructors from Blanche Macdonald!  Dave Hamilton Photography did a great job on the images, here is a sneak peak from Bhu's Wedding.

Viva Las Vegas!

A few weeks ago, my favorite ladies, flew me out to Las Vegas for my bachelorette party, we had an amazing time!  They did a great job planning a luxurious trip, the shows, limos, champagne, pool, dancing, food, and shopping, a memory I will not soon forget.  Vegas is definitely a must for every bride-to-be, along with Thunder from Down Under!

Marian, my beautiful bride from Los Angeles wrote "you did a super job on my bridal make up!
