Special Event Makeover in Victoria BC

Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry had the pleasure of working with Sangam, for her sister-in-law's Sikh Wedding in Victoria, BC & Reception in Vancouver, BC.  She arrived in-studio early morning, for the wedding, where the pampering began, with a cup of tea and gourmet treat!  For hair we created a vintage bollywood look with a prandi hair accessory, and makeup we went with a bold lip.

For the reception look, Sangam arrived early morning the next day, as she was catching a ferry to Vancouver for the reception.  We went with a smokey eye, defined liner, keeping the lips and cheeks soft, with a polished updo hairstyle.

Celebrity Makeup Artist - Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry

Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry had the honor to work with Brenda Irving, during the BMO Canadian Figure Skating Championship, in Victoria BC.  Brenda is a Canadian Sports Journalist & Host for CBC  Sports, and has more than 20 years of broadcasting experience.  She was the first woman to appear on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada, in 2001.  Brenda was great to work with, she loved her makeup, the smokey eye, with softer blush and lips - so beautiful!

Sikh Wedding Festivities in Victoria BC - Sharon Rai Hairstylist & Makeup Artist

Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry had the pleasure to work with Angila, for her Ladies Party (which is part of the South Asian wedding festivities) in Victoria, BC.  She wanted curl with lots of volume, extensions were added to achieve the look.  With her makeup, she wanted the eyes defined with softer colors complimenting her 'burnt orange colored' outfit.  The look complemented everything perfectly, including the beautiful jewelry!  View more pictures of Angila on the Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry Facebook Page.

Nanaimo BC Bridal Makeup Artist & Bridal Hairstylist - Sikh Wedding

Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry traveled on-location to Nanaimo BC to stylize Amrit Minhas for her Dream Wedding in Lady Smith BC at Transfer Beach.  

Read Amrit's experience as an SR Bride:

"It was August 29^th, 2009 and I was awoken at 3:45 am by a knock on the door. I am an Indian girl having an Indian wedding so the expectation to get up before sunrise to be ready for the morning ceremony was a part of the deal. As I lay in bed unable to get up, I just thought to myself… I had only slept for three hours on my wedding night, yikes! And to top it off, my makeup lady was at the door and I was still half asleep in bed… 

My mom escorted Sharon up to my room as I still lay warm in my blankets. I finally managed to roll out of bed and I as I arose I turned to Sharon and said, “I bet you have never been to a Brides home and she was still sleeping when you got there!” and of course she replied, “nope, you are the first bride to do that!” 

Sharon set up her things as I finally showered, brushed my teeth and finished up my normal morning routine. Her sincere patience, calm demeanor and ability to laugh at the situation with me made this experience absolutely idyllic. 

I really didn’t know what to expect…I had never been dressed in such adornment before.  However, I did have vague ideas that Sharon so easily brought to life. After 3 hours of constantly interrupted work (so many family members, friends and photographers bustling about), I was finally ready. Everyone in the house was in awe of Sharon’s work and I was thoroughly impressed and excited that my dream wedding was beginning in such a perfect way. She incorporated my unique looking wedding outfit with a unique look, exactly what I wanted….

Not only did I feel like an Indian Princess, I was comfortable all day and my makeup lasted from 5am to the wee hours of the night.  My husband was speechless… and that was my ultimate testament to Sharon’s work.
