East Indian Wedding in Victoria BC || Hairstylist & Makeup Artist

Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry arrived early morning to stylize Priya Dhaul for her Wedding taking place in Sidney, BC.  We did a wedding day preview a month prior in-studio to create her look, going through hair, makeup, jewelry, outfit, and photography.  Priya's morning was stress-free as she knew exactly what she was going to look like!  She had a traditional Hindu Wedding at the Mary Winspear Centre, decorated by the talented Hardip Johal of Magical Moments Decorating.  View images of Priya's wedding look on the Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry Facebook Page!

Nanaimo BC Bridal Makeup Artist & Bridal Hairstylist - Sikh Wedding

Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry traveled on-location to Nanaimo BC to stylize Amrit Minhas for her Dream Wedding in Lady Smith BC at Transfer Beach.

"It was August 29^th, 2009 and I was awoken at 3:45 am by a knock on the door. I am an Indian girl having an Indian wedding so the expectation to get up before sunrise to be ready for the morning ceremony was a part of the deal. As I lay in bed unable to get up, I just thought to myself… I had only slept for three hours on my wedding night, yikes! And to top it off, my makeup lady was at the door and I was still half asleep in bed… 

My mom escorted Sharon up to my room as I still lay warm in my blankets. I finally managed to roll out of bed and I as I arose I turned to Sharon and said, “I bet you have never been to a Brides home and she was still sleeping when you got there!” and of course she replied, “nope, you are the first bride to do that!” 

Sharon set up her things as I finally showered, brushed my teeth and finished up my normal morning routine. Her sincere patience, calm demeanor and ability to laugh at the situation with me made this experience absolutely idyllic. 

I really didn’t know what to expect…I had never been dressed in such adornment before.  However, I did have vague ideas that Sharon so easily brought to life. After 3 hours of constantly interrupted work (so many family members, friends and photographers bustling about), I was finally ready. Everyone in the house was in awe of Sharon’s work and I was thoroughly impressed and excited that my dream wedding was beginning in such a perfect way. She incorporated my unique looking wedding outfit with a unique look, exactly what I wanted….

Not only did I feel like an Indian Princess, I was comfortable all day and my makeup lasted from 5am to the wee hours of the night.  My husband was speechless… and that was my ultimate testament to Sharon’s work.

A beautiful sunny day, with food, decor, vendors and blushing brides!  Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry was part of the 2011 Bridal Open House put on by the Four Points by Sheraton.  A great event, with many local vendors, Cakes Galore, Persona Video, Platinum Floral Designs, & Designer Weddings Victoria!  A special thank you to Magical Moments Decorating for the beautiful decor!

O'Siem BC Spirit Festival - West Shore Hairstylist & Makeup Artist - Sharon Rai

Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry took part in the O'Siem BC Spirit Festival - West Shore Business Show, February 11 - 13th at the Eagle Ridge Community Center in Langford, BC.

This was a great event bringing together the West Shore districts in celebration of BC's rich artistic and cultural diversity.  Visitors were able to stroll between the trade floor booths showcasing the business throughout the West Shore, as-well-as watching the great entertainers!

The SR booth looked amazing, and won 'Best Decorated Booth'! Hardip Johal from Magical Moments Decorating supplied all the beautiful decor!  Tina Barabonoff from Platinum Floral Designs created the beautiful arrangements.
